Polop/La Nucia: The village of Polop is located inland in the Costa Blanca North in an area known as the Marina Alta. The local economy is based mainly on agriculture which can be seen by the different plantations up and down the hill sides.
The village is a delight to explore and perfect for a morning or afternoon amble. The hill, where the old castle used to be is encircled by a medieval wall, and is a ‘must’ to walk up. Follow the zig zag path and you’ll be well rewarded with some fabulous views. On a clear day you can see right to Albir and Altea on the coast and inland to Callosa and the Sierra Bernia. You’ll be able to make out the Leon Dormido – the sleeping lion mountain which sits behind Polop.
La Nucia is the town which is in-between Benidorm and the town of Polop. Over the years La Nucia has grown with a massive investment in developing the area. The CV70 road which departs the Old town end of Benidorm is lined with many European Supermarkets, Bars & Restaurants. The old town of La Nucia is as beautiful and quaint as others in the area and definitely worth a visit to experience the Spanish culture.
