Local Costa Blanca Beaches

Albir Beach
Albir Beach

Albir Beach. Albir’s beach is called “Playa de Racó de l’Albir” and is approx. 590 meters long, continually receiving the coveted European Union Blue Ribbon award annually since 2001.

If you’re early enough – or just lucky, you can park your car right on the ‘Paseo de Estreles’, behind the beach with views accross to the impressive ‘Peñon de Ifach’ and the resort of Calpe. Almost as pleasant as the view, is the spacious and quiet atmosphere of the beaches (these pictures were taken in August!).

During the swimming season, the beach is constantly monitored by 3 life-guards. At daytime an ambulance is permanently parked on stand-by and for minor injuries (such as abrasions) you can visit the permanent first-aid post at the beginning of the boulevard.

There are public toilets situated in the middle of the boulevard so you have to walk (or run, depending how pressing the call of nature is) an equidistance from either end of the beach. Also, along the beach you will find facilities to rinse your feet with fresh water before you step onto the boulevard. And for the junior visitors to the beach, there are 2 children’s playgrounds where the little ones can have some safe fun. The playgrounds are unattended so parent will have to arrange that for themselves.

Benidorm Beaches
Benidorm Beaches

Benidorm Beaches. The best beaches in Spain? Benidorm’s beaches are justifiably famous and the resort’s continuing success owes much to those fabulous golden crescents. Stretching for a luxuriant six kilometres from Levante Beach in the east to Poniente Beach in the west, consistently high quality blue flagbathing, lifeguard patrols, a wealth of water sports and an impressive approach to cleanliness mean these beaches are among the best in Europe. Each has its own particular character so take your pick:

Levante Beach: This is the sandy holiday hub for those who’re out for fun and frolics, and is known as the sunrise beach.

Poniente Beach: Beyond the Old Town to the west of LEVANTE, it comprises a mammoth golden curl of excellent fine sand. Huge!.

Calpe Beach
Calpe Beach

Calpe Beach. Calpe offers a choice of beautiful beaches, including the two main beaches of Playa Levante (La Fossa), andPlaya Del Arenal (Bol) where you can relax, play with the children, or enjoy a range of activities and sports.

Several of the beaches have blue flag status, and are amongst the best in Europe.

Calpe is still somewhat of an undiscovered treasure. The white sandy beaches stretch for miles and are backed by a promenade of cafe bars and restaurants overlooking the tranquil costa Blanca waters. Some of the more popular Coves in Calpe include Playa Del Cantal Roig at the Harbour, and the wonderful Playa del Puerto Blanco which has lovely shaded areas on the beach.

La Cale Finestrat Beach
La Cale Finestrat Beach

La Cala Finestrat Beach. La Cala Finestrat offers a beautiful sandy beach and good sports facilities. Although only a few miles from Benidorm, Cala Finestrat is much less crowded and is ideal for a relaxing beach holiday.

Cala Finestrat is particularly popular among families with children, both because of the very flat beach which is very safe, and because it is only a few miles from the famous amusement parks in the region. Only 3 miles from the bay there is the island “Isla de Benidorm” with its beautiful underwater world, which is an ideal destination for excursions.

Villajoyosa Beaches
Villajoyosa Beaches

Villajoyosa Beach. Villajoyosa’s beaches are absolutely fantastic. Up and down the Costa Blanca coast you have other also very good beaches but Villajoyosa’s are something special. All of Villajoyosa’s beaches have the European Blue Flag awards which indicate a good quality standard of beach and facilities. Villajoyosa is the opposite of it’s neighbouring resorts, it retains its origins of a small fishing port which continues to trade to this day. The beaches are unspoilt by development, there are fine wide sandy beaches and small coves offering privacy and wind-breaks. So there are a wide variety of different types of beaches depending on your mood – quiet or active.
